Shea's Day (a day on the beach):
Plop yourself in a chair on the water's edge with a 40 oz Stanley cup full of Kara's homemade watermelon margaritas and a good book. Refuse to move until your drink is empty or you finish your book, whichever comes second.
Justin's Day (not at the beach):
The weather on 30A is generally pretty nice. When it is hot, it is also breezy. So the morning calls for a a belated look through a months-old Texas Monthly on your balcony or by the pool.
Lunch on 30A is generally pretty casual. You could drop by Publix (3 area locations) for a tasty chicken tender Pub Sub. Experience fried seafood at the famous Seagrove Village Market. Or make your way to artsy Grayton Beach for relaxed bar food at Red Bar.
The lunch hour might also be a perfect time to track down a t-shirt. You cant leave without a 30A t-shirt -- specifically, a t-shirt with your beach's name on it. If you're staying in Seaside, you're in luck. The Seaside Store has nothing but items that say Seaside. You'll find similar stores in Rosemary Beach and Watercolor; Seagrove Beach attire can be found at Seagrove Village Market.
After lunch, track down a bike. Many house rentals and hotels offer use of a bike; if not, there are plenty of places to rent one. Head east on the Timpoochee Trail (this is the southern sidewalk of 30A) and make your way toward Rosemary Beach. Hope your legs are ready. It's an 8 mile ride! But it's mostly flat and breezy.
In Rosemary Beach, treat yourself to a milkshake -- pretty much -- at La Crema. The La Crema Latte -- a mocha caramel latte poured over vanilla ice cream with pirouettes, will give you a sugar boost to give you the energy to get back.
But before you make it all the way back -- stop at Neat, a cocktail bar in modern Alys Beach. Enjoy one of their seasonal choices or request your favorite from home. The one thing to remember -- don't tell them the bar is neat. There's a fee for that.
Once you're back home, take a break! Enjoy a sunset beverage on your balcony or patio if you have a rental house, or drop by the bar if you are at a hotel.
To close out the day, get cleaned up and drop by one of 30A's finer restaurants. Cafe Thirty-A and Surfing Deer in Seagrove Beach and Pescado in Rosemary Beach are great options.
